GOLF Come experience a golfer's fantasy. Twenty-seven championship holes on Mexico's spectacular Pacific Coast, featuring our new Lee Trevino nine. If you're feeling competitive, why not enter El Cid's annual tournaments? Every March and November, amateur golfers from around the world travel here to compete for thousands of dollars in prizes, as well as cars, vacation packages and more. Of course, carts and caddies are always available at El Cid, as are our driving range, putting greens and short-game area.
TENNIS In addition to our nine clay and laykold tennis courts, El Cid offers ball machines, video analysis and rental rackets for your enjoyment. Our outstanding USPTR tennis pros are readily available for lessons or matches. And if you'd like a more intensive learning experience, sign up for the El Cid Tennis Academy, providing half-day to four-day camps and clinics from November to May. Finally, for visitors whose fondness for racquet sports extends beyond tennis, El Cid features racquet ball and squash courts at no charge.
SAILING Sail away on El Cid's fleet of high-performance sailboats (12- to 21-feet), or charter a custom sailing adventure for the day. Our excursions to Deer Island and deserted beaches offer snorkeling in Mazatlán's turquoise waters, canoeing, kayaking, volleyball, lunch and drinks. Choose your destination and help sail the boat, or simply relax and enjoy the trip. If you prefer, you can charter our 55-foot, 50-passenger trimaran Kolonahe for the day. Enjoy a hearty, all-you-can-eat lunch on board, a refreshing swim at Deer Island, and a cool margarita as you watch the sun slip lazily below the horizon. The Kolonahe carries snorkel equipment, kayaks and canoes for your pleasure. Wish you knew how to sail? El Cid is the perfect place to learn the ropes.
Our friendly professional instructors provide one- to four-day sailing courses
for adults of all skill levels and children as young as eight. Fishermen far and wide call Mazatlán the billfish capital of the world. You'll find no better place on the planet for swordfish, marlin, sailfish, mahi-mahi, tuna and wahoo. At the Marina El Cid you can rent proffesional equipment and boats from the Aries fleet. Friendly, bilingual captains will guide you to the heart of the action. And if you prefer bottom fishing, experienced captains can take you to the best spots for snapper, rooster fish, sea bass, grouper and more. Don't miss The 7th Annual Marina El Cid Billfish Classic Tournament on November 13-17, 2002. This lively contest attracts a host of professional and amateur fishermen, and your participation supports the Catch and Release program.
