Cancun Sportfishing - CR Charter Boats Every year there are double digit grand slams (a sailfish, white and blue marlin in one day) and sometimes there are double grand slams (two slams in one day) and super grand slams (add a swordfish.) Other abundant fish are: wahoo, dorado, tuna, kingfish, and barracuda. Best of all - we set our baits right as we exit the marina! No travel time. We have caught sails so close we have released them in the marina.
For the offshore sportfishing enthusiast traditionally, February through August are excellent for sails, marlin, tuna and dolphin. The seas are mostly calm. October through January sees the transition between rainy season and dry season here, and we catch a variety of species. January through March can be windy, and boats usually run about 45 minutes to get to the good fishing out of the wind. Marlin, and large blackfin tuna, wahoo, mahi-mahi are plentiful then, as well as sailfish. Sailfish, white and blue marlin, slammer dolphins, blackfin, skipjack, yellowfin tuna, kingfish and wahoo are abundant in the waters near Cancun, depending on the time of year. Atlantic sailfish migrate from late March to June or July. White marlin in May. June for blue marlin. Dorado (mahi mahi), snapper, tuna, kingfish and wahoo can be caught year round. Non migratory sailfish live close by throughout the year. Occasionally we see broadbill swordfish or spearfish. Most of the billfish are average size, but world records are set nearly every year so come try your luck! So you do not want to catch, but you do want to enjoy the Caribbean? We offer numerous pleasure trips to several desolate beaches and snorkel areas. Yucatan happens to have the second longest coral reef in the world!!! We can also combine trips and tailor it to your likes - snorkel, beaches and fishing.
