Lake Guerrero Mexico Bass Fishing FAQ

We are now offering all inclusive turn-key fishing packages designed for the traveling angler. We will pick you up at either McAllen or Harlengin, Texas, airport for your transfer via comfortable air conditioned vehicle to our Lake Guerrero lodge in time for supper.

We will return you to the Texas border in the morning of your last day with us in time for your return flight.

We offer a customized Lake Guerrero Bass Fishing itinerary for each group. This way you will be able to relax on your first day and wake up eager to fish on day 2.

If your travel schedule allows for an early afternoon arrival ath the lodge, we can have you fishing in no time, and will adjust the package accordingly. Allow four hours from the airport to the Lake Guerrero Lodge.

Professional guides will take you where the biggest fish are. They will provide you with all the necessary equipment as well with a cooler full of soda and beer.

You fish on Lake Guerrero where you glimpse the brilliant plumage of a variety of waterfowl. Or, you try one of the hauntingly beautiful "stump coves", where the big bass hang out. After the morning fishing, you arrive back at Lago Vista Lodge for lunch followed by a little siesta time before the afternoon activities. Our guides then escort you back on Lake Guerrero for an afternoon of fishing. As the day drifts toward sunset, it's back to the lodge where your fish are cleaned while you relax on the patio or at the bar. This is the best time of the day... reflecting on the excitement of the day's activities. These are economy fishing trips, with basic accommodations and boats, perfect for bass anglers who want to experience exciting Mexico bass fishing without spending a fortune doing it.

The lodge lies at the north end of the lake, a short drive from the water depending on lake levels. It's the ideal setting for a vacation - far from the cares of the world, yet easily accessible. These are economy packages with basic accommodations, boats and experienced guides.

Big Bass Lodge offers tranquil cabanas nestled amongst its lakeside tropical setting. This lodge is the closest to the shore of Lake Guerrero of the two lodges. There are a total of 17 rooms, each having 4 single beds. The Papala Bar has pool tables, ping pong tables, weight machine and satelite TV in an tropical outdoor setting. This makes for a great place to relax between your fishing or hunting sessions and in the evenings.

The legendary Lake Guerrero is known worldwide for the number of record-class large mouth bass consistently caught here. The incredible scenery and thousands of acres of flooded timber is heaven on earth for any angler. A voluntary catch and release program now observed by most fishermen has made this great lake even better.

Lake Guerrero promises to be excellent this year due to the increase in water levels. Lake is at its highest level since the eighties. Fish are very active now. Currently doing good on plastics mainly Red shad worms.

Commercial flights will bring you to Harlingen or McAllen Texas. We'll meet you there, then drive you down to Lake Guerrero in comfortable air-conditioned vans and suburbans. If you charter or fly your own plane, Ciudad Victoria has a major airport located a short 45 minutes from the lodge. For those who prefer to drive, we'll provide directions and current road information.

Lake Aguamilpa offers the avid bass angler the best bass fishing action of any lake in Mexico, if not the world, with catches of 30 to 100 bass per day ranging in size from 3 to 10 pounds.  The best lake for numbers of bass!!!

Reservations and Payment

A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold any dates. Reservations may be re-scheduled up to 60 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. 100% payment is required 30 days prior to arrival. No cancellations accepted after 30 days prior to arrival date.

Our fishing season is short and lodge capacity limited so book your reservations early.

Three full days of guided fishing (2 fishermen per boat), four nights lodging, maid service, wake up with fresh-squeezed juice and coffee, man-sized breakfast, lunch and dinner, complimentary beer, soft drinks, iced tea, and margaritas, two snacks daily, boat with guide and refreshment cooler. Also included are Mexican Fishing License and round trip transfer from Texas border to the Lodge.
